Marlborough Exam Results
Marlborough students at A-level and GCSE are to be congratulated on achieving a most excellent set of results – we are absolutely delighted for them all and know their successes were a direct result of sheer hard work, resilience, talent and revision! Staff too need many congratulations they have worked so hard with little guidance from the exam boards to prepare our students for their toughest exams yet.
Individual performances are too numerous to mention in terms of achieving the highest grades and up to 11 A* and As, all credit too to the students who achieved beyond their wildest dreams because they worked hard and believed in themselves, the look on some of the faces last week and yesterday said it all – relief, disbelief in some cases and just joy!
It was a very special day in Marlborough’s history as we celebrated a 5% jump in numbers of students achieving A*s and As bucking the national picture our overall results have jumped too by 8% from last year bringing our Basics figure to 67% (students achieving Maths and English).
We will publish fuller figures at the start of term but just wanted to acknowledge students’ efforts and thank you all as parents/carers for your support, patience in some difficult times and trust in our fabulous teachers.
Every best wish to those students off to pastures new and look forward to seeing all our new sixth formers in September. And the icing on the cake being a new sixth form block which should be up over their two years of study!
Enjoy the rest of your holidays and huge, huge congratulations to all!
Best Wishes,
Ms Thomson
