We are a NUT AWARE school.

In practice, however, we cannot guarantee a completely ‘nut free’ environment. The following measures have been put in place to mitigate the risks posed:

• We strongly discourage all staff and students to bring any nut products (or their derivatives) into school in lunches or snacks.
• We know that these products may be brought onto site but labels should be checked prior to bringing any food items into school.
• We know that cross contamination can occur and we do all that we can to mitigate this happening.
• We know that curriculum activities may require allergen handling, for which separate detailed risk assessments are in place for these subjects.

As a school we have a duty to reduce risk as far as is reasonably practical, however we cannot guarantee an absolute allergen free environment.

We do hold spare Epipens in reception, which are available for use as required in an emergency.
